The client wanted a reliable solar PV and battery system to handle frequent power outages at their rural property, which was located at the end of an electrical line.
Clients needs
The client wanted to lower their energy costs, which had spiked after installing an air source heat pump and electric water heating. They needed a Solar PV system & battery to use cheaper, off-peak electricity and a setup to work across multiple roofs which experienced shading. They requested the installation to be installed in a detached garage, future-ready for EV charging, with an easy interface to manage battery charging from grid and solar.
LCS Energy’s Solution
LCS Energy maximized roof space with an optimized inverter system for shaded, multi-directional roofs. A new submain was installed and sized accordingly to the garage, allowing for future EV charging. We recommended a 23.8kWh battery with paired inverters for efficient charge/discharge rates. The system’s user-friendly interface allows full control over battery charging strategies, tailored to the client’s energy use.
Results
The client now enjoys significant savings and full control over the system with detailed module-level monitoring. The setup offers fast charging and discharging, and from late spring to early autumn, the client is entirely self-sufficient, avoiding the need to purchase electricity from the grid.
